Posted at 25 Oct, 20:24h in Testimonials 0 Comments 0 Likes Share Go Abroad Nicaragua along with Lorenzo E. ArĂ©valo and Gerard Martin Lacayo created a spring break trip of a lifetime for the LSU College of Agriculture! One of the greatest memories I have from our trip was serving the local Grenada community. It was such a humbling experience to shop the local market and create packages containing staples to deliver to local families. I also thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the kids at the local after school program in a fun game of soccer and helping them with their homework! It was truly an amazing experience that is definitely unforgettable! — Payton B LSU AgCenter April 15, 2015
Posted at 25 Oct, 20:23h in Testimonials 0 Comments 0 Likes Share What a great experience! Lorenzo and Gerrard, our GAN hosts, took myself and ten other LSU Master of Science in Accounting students on an unforgettable cultural excursion. We had the opportunity to see the beautiful landscape of Nicaragua from the serene Pacific coast to the mountainous coffee farms of Matagalpa. Lorenzo arranged for us to meet with several Nicaraguan businesses executives of various industries. Their presentations along with tours of the farms and facilities allowed me gain a real understanding of how these industries operate. This experience simply cannot be gained by reading a textbook or sitting in a classroom back home. From the time we were picked up from the airport to the time we were dropped off we were in good hands with the GAN team. They treated us like family and were always there to answer questions or help in any way possible. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to go on this trip. I highly recommend Go Abroad Nicaragua to both students and faculty who are interested in visiting Nicaragua. — Terry M. LSU April 16, 2015
Posted at 25 Oct, 20:23h in Testimonials 0 Comments 0 Likes Share Going to Nicaragua was a great choice. In the middle of studying hard at school, it was a great way to take a break, see the world, and remind myself of why I am studying now, hoping to help make a difference one day. The program was a blast and the leaders are outstanding! In addition, the host families are so sweet, and it was so cool to learn about another culture. I went on the medical trip but have heard great things about all trips to Nicaragua. A great mix between volunteer work and adventure! — Diana K. April 19, 2015
